The nursing department is guided
by the Director of Nursing, Pamela Bryant, RN, BA in Education
and the Assistant Director of Nursing, James Preston, RN.
These leaders have a combined work experience of forty years
at the Alamo Nursing Home in various positions, including
laundry aide, nursing assistant, charge nurse, MDS Coordinator
and Restorative Nurse. Their strong work ethic and from the
ground up understanding of the facility are an asset for those
of whom they lead and provide care for.
The nursing department employs 25 nurses and 45 certified
nursing assistants. The staff to resident ration exceeds the
state of Michigan standards. This staffing ration is evident
in the excellent client centered care that is offered.
We believe that nursing is the art of caring. Understanding
the needs of the resident and the family is a crucial aspect
of the care that we provide. Respecting the resident and providing
for the individuality of each client is what we strive to
preserve. Implementing a resident centered plan of care is
another important facet for the nursing department. Supporting
the client and family with each interaction is a key element
in our ongoing relationships. Never ending appreciation of
being given the opportunity to provide care is the basis of
the nursing department. Growing in mind, body, and spirit
both professionally and personally is vital in enabling us
to provide superlative nursing care to our clients.
The nursing department of the Alamo Nursing Home is a genuine
asset to the community. The leadership has a strong knowledge
base and is driven to providing the best care to those we
serve; clients needing short-term rehabilitation, long term
assistance, or end of life compassion. The award winning staff
is committed to providing individual client centered care
to all. |
